(HOWEVER, to make sure we will be on time and to collect payments, please meet outside RK Loof by 6:45-7:00pm)

Cost: ￥6,500 per person (please try to bring exact change!)

Are you feeling the cold? Perhaps feeling a bit down being away from home during the holidays? Well, don’t be sad because It’s time for our Winter Warmer!!

This event is made for those who wish to celebrate the holidays with their friends before many of us go back home for winter vacation. Let’s enjoy, celebrate and welcome in the new year, as well as getting people together with some delicious food and drinks!

What is RK LOOF?
RK Loof is a nomihodai/tabehodai buffet style restaurant (includes a vegetarian option for the pizza and a salad bar!). It also includes kotatsu’s to keep us all nice and toasty!

Reservations need to be made in advanced. As a result, if you plan on attending, you will need to sign up on the google *LINK IN BIO!!* no later than 12pm on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8th.

If you are unable to attend the event and do not notify us in advance , this impacts our event planning; logistically and financially. Therefore, if you do not arrive for your reserved spot at the event without prior notification, this may result in limited access to future GAJET events. If you can’t join, immediately let one of the GAJET members know so we can fill in your spot! If you can no longer attend and want to cancel, please try to make sure to notify us by December 8th.

Did you know Japan is famous for it’s illuminations? And that the Ashikaga Flower Park Illuminations is one of the top three light events in Japan?!

Hello all! Hope you’ve gotten some heat tech and pulled out those kotatsu’s! It’s nearing winter time in good ol’d Gunma.

To celebrate the season, GAJET will be going to the Illuminations at Ashikaga Flower Park! Come join for a nice walk amongst thousands of beautiful LED lights and feel the holiday spirit all around!

Where: Ashikaga Flower Park
**Since between 4:30 and 5 is our start time, if you’re coming in from Takasaki the best train to take is the 3:06 on the Ryomo Line towards Oyama on platform 6!**

When: Saturday, December 9th, meet up and enter @4-5:00pm

(You can even come earlier but the lights won’t turn on until around 4:30-5, and you can leave whenever you like or stay until closing at 8:30)

Cost: ¥1300
(Pay directly at the gates!)

This will be Coco winery’s 40th harvest festival in which you will be able to taste a variety of different wines while enjoying music and company.

*IMPORTANT* Even though we are making this event page on our Facebook, we are not actually running this event. Hence, you will need to get your own ticket as well as find out how to get to this event on your own. We will provide some information to help you if you are interested in coming but please understand that we will not be responsible for this event!

EVENT INFO:

When: November 18th and 19th (most GAJET members will be there the 18th if you would like to join us!)

Time: 10am to 3pm

Where: Coco Farm Winery, Tajima-Cho, Ashikaga City, Tochigi

Price: You will need to register and make a reservation to get a ticket, which costs ¥5000. Here is the link to buy tickets, and make sure to hurry because there’s a limited amount of space available!

ALSO!!!! You need to get your ticket before November 11th!

How to get there:

We don’t suggest driving to the event as you need to reserve a parking spot before hand which costs around ¥4000 (also you would not be able to partake in any of the wine tasting!).

Instead, there are shuttle bus options from certain stations that you can take.

There are 2 stations that will run a shuttle bus that will cost ¥500 one way.

One station is: Tobu Ashikaga City Station

The other station is: JR Line Ashikaga Station

**BE CAREFUL that you don’t get off at Ashikaga Flower Park Station. This station doesn’t have a shuttle to Coco**

Hello everyone! For Thanksgiving this year, GAJET will be running a couple of hikes on Saturday, November 11th. Come enjoy the last of the leaves changing color before hiking season ends! Ash will be running one hike on Akagi to the Fudo-Waterfall and Dianne will be running one on .

🕒When: 9 a.m.
🚶Hike Length: About 2 hours
🌊What to Expect: Easy hike, although waterproof shoes recommended, as the trail goes through a shallow section of stream. Small and large falls, an old temple, and a cave once the hideout for an infamous thief and his posse.

🕖When: 9 a.m.
🚶‍♂️Hike Length: About 5 hours
🌊What to Expect: A few spots with a steep climb, but no chains or equipment needed. Bring gloves, warm but breathable clothing like fleece, and shoes with decent grip. Arafune is a higher altitude hike than the Myogi hike, so you'll want some removable layers. Please use the bathroom BEFORE arriving at the parking lot, unless you're not afraid of the nastiest squatty potty Dianne has ever laid eyes on.

Let's enjoy the last colors of autumn together! Remember to bring snacks, good shoes, and your ¥300 GAJET fee.

Yes that's right, we will also be hosting our annual Costume Contest! Although costumes are not mandatory for this event and not everyone in costume may want to participate, we highly urge people to dress up and impress our judges!
