On September 15th, GAJET took advantage of the long weekend to enjoy hiking in the Tomioka “Alps”. Twenty one people scaled the Kannari Hiking Trail in Tomioka and enjoyed the lovely view from the summit.

After we descended and hydrated, some of us went to the nearby Gunma Museum of Natural History. There was the second half of their special exhibition, ながいながい骨の旅 (The Long Long Journey of Bones) as well as their permanent exhibits of Gunma natural history and dinosaur bones!

Thank you to everyone who came along, and thank you to everyone who helped out when someone *cough* me *cough* struggled during the hike.
Check out our socials for information about upcoming hikes and other events! Our next hike will be October 13th on Mount Haruna. As the weather cools and the leaves turn, it’s going to be a great time for getting out into the mountains!
