The town of Ikaho, just outside Shibukawa, has deep historical ties to the Kingdom of Hawai'i, and each year they celebrate by inviting performers from Hawai'i to showcase their talent alongside local performers at the Ikaho Hawaiian Festival.

This year marks the 49th anniversary of the Takasaki Summer Festival, an event which includes dashi floats, portable shrines, giant daruma and fireworks.
