Japan Snake Center - ジャパンスネークセンター

Location Description:

The Japan Snake Center is kind of like a zoo entirely devoted to snakes. There are lots of snake exhibits to look at and you can even partake of a little snake if you want. Japan's foremost herpetologists work at the snake center.

By Train
Take the Ryomo Line to Iwajuku Station [岩宿駅]. From there it's about 7 min by taxi.
Take the Tobu Kiryu Line to Yabuzuka Station [藪塚駅]. It's about a 10 min walk from there.

Movix is the movie theater in Isesaki.

Movix shows Japanese and foreign films, and many English language films are in English with Japanese subtitles.

Twin Plaza ツインプラザ

Location Description:

Twin Plaza is a beautiful double building in Nakanojo-town. It houses both the town's Board of Education as well as a branch of (the only one?) the Agatsuma Library.

The library has both a special study area where you can bring food and drink, as well as traditional study areas in the main library. It also has lots of videos (you can view them at the library only) and CDs (which you can check out for free!).

It also has meeting rooms, practice rooms for dancing and music, and a theater! Every month, they show a different movie, usually Saturday afternoon. It's about 1000 yen to get in, and obviously a great deal for those who live out in this part of Gunma.

Take the Agatsuma Line to Nakanojo station. Head north (uphill), and it lies just past the elementary school.

by Car
Take route 353 to Nakanojo. Go north at the Ise-machi signal (伊勢町). Then turn left at the next signal (don't go towards Numata), then it will be on your left before the next signal.

The movie theatre in Takasaki.

Shows Japanese and foreign films, and many English language films are in English with Japanese subtitles.

Regular ticket prices are 1800 yen for adults.
Shows after 20:00 (22:00 on Friday/Saturday) are only 1200 yen.

by Train
Head to Takasaki station. Leave via the East exit. Once you hit the big road in front of the station, turn right.
The 109 Cinemas will be on the right side of the road, a few blocks ahead. They are located above a 7-11, and there is a Game Center in the same building.
Walking time from Takasaki station: about 5 minutes.

by Car
Drive to the east side of Takasaki station. When facing the station, 109 Cinemas is to the left, above a 7-11.
There is a parking building behind the cinemas. Take the small alley beside 7-11 to get to the parking. If you get your parking ticket validated when you buy your movie tickets, up to 3 hours of parking is free.
